Kris feels great joy that after completing their dance education at The Dance Company, many students have attained dance scholarships and were selected for the dance teams or arts programs to colleges such as UC Berkley, USC, UCLA, Emery, UC Davis, Brown and many more. Additionally, many have gone on to be dance educators and career performers themselves. Her performing credits include Bum Equipment, Ski Doo, L.A. Gear, Mark Wilson's Magic, Blockbuster, Legends in Concert, and Jane's Addiction. Kris has choreographed for Sports Illustrated Kids, KCal 9, and the Los Angeles Lakers. She has won top choreographer awards at national and regional competitions and was also the creator and owner of the LA New Groove Dance Competition and Convention. She has taught, trained and performed across the United States as well as Korea and Japan. In addition to training at local schools in Minnesota where she is from, she had extensive professional training at the Edge Performing Arts Center, Joe Tremaines, and DuPrees Dance Center in Los Angeles, CA. She has owned The Dance Company in Ventura County California since 1997 which now has two locations. Moorpark celebrating its 23rd year and Camarillo celebrating its 9th!
Originally from Indiana, Chantal began dancing at age 4. She trained in all styles of dance from top industry professionals including Suzi Taylor, Joe Lanteri, Mark Goodman, and Dianne Walker. She pursued a BFA in Dance from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. While at UArts, Chantal had the opportunity to work with Mia Michaels, Roni Koresh (Koresh Dance Company), Kim Bears-Bailey (Philadanco) and LeVaughn Robinson to name a few. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2005, she has been seen performing at venues such as Magic Castle (with Neil Patrick Harris, Choreographed by David Burtka) and many venues throughout Los Angeles. Her students, past and present, can been seen dancing on TV shows such as Shake It Up and Vampire Diaries, and on stages for top cruise lines and National productions across the country. She is excited to be at the Dance Company and share her joy and passion for dance with her students!
Leadership / Events / Studio Culture Coordinator
Allie is a Dance Company alumni and has been dancing since the age of 3; trained in tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, lyrical and contemporary. Allie continues training as a dancer and is a graduate of Channel Island University where she received a B.A. in Liberal Studies with an emphasis on Special Education for children. She brings dedication, passion and caring instruction to her classes. While a student at The Dance Company, she was part of the award winning hip hop, tap, and jazz company teams and was able to attend many conventions and competitions and won many awards. She’s received three consecutive scholarships to Adrenaline Dance Convention and intensives, while also being chosen for Tap Crew. She has since choreographed competing numbers for The Dance Company that have won top awards at regional competitions.
Hip Hop / Tumbling
Justin grew up in Northern California and has been immersed in the dance scene since he was 8 years old. While in the Bay Area he competed as a member of the famed Hip Hop Crews, Culture Shock and Funk Beyond Control. Since moving to Los Angeles, he has appeared regularly on Disney's "Shake It Up" and additionally on Glee, Dancing With the Stars and in the feature films Camp Rock 2, Honey 2 and Alvin and the Chipmunks. He has danced with artists such as Demi Lovato, Keke Palmer and the Jonas Brothers. He was a featured performer and toured all over the US, Japan, Europe & Mexico with Austin Mahone. Justin also appeared on the Billboard Music Awards dancing with Nicki Minaj.
Rachel Spada Doty
Rachel has been dancing since she was 6. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, she focused her training at two dance studios and did various competitions in the Western New York area as well as New York City. She went to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and recieved a BFA in Jazz Dance Performance and also received an award for outstanding choreographic achievement over four years. She's worked with the Rock School, River North Chicago, Alvin Ailey, and the Hip Hop group FloMotion before she left Philadelphia. In July of 2005, she moved to Los Angeles. She dances in Jessica Starr's company, "Twisted Elegance" where they have performed at many venues. She's worked with Mia Michaels, Mary Kudelka, Wade Robson, and Tovaris Wilson, just to name a few. She hopes to one day have a dance company of her own. Rachel is certified in the Paula Morgan Ballet technique.
Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop
Gage is a Cincinnati native that has been dancing since the age of 10. He received his training at Z Company Dance under Zandra and Aly Thomas where he had the opportunity to have many pre-professional jobs, including a benefit company show with live singer Angela Ai. He also competed in New York City at the Capezio ACE Awards for Choreographic Excellence at the age of 16. Gage has received recognition from some of the dance industry’s top choreographers and dancers such as Tokyo Inoyue, Mollee Gray, and more for his unique ability in movement and hard work both in and out of the studio. For two consecutive years, Gage had the privilege of being awarded The PULSE Protégé Scholarship for The PULSE Dance convention with well-known faculty members such as Brian Friedman, Gil Duldulao, Tyce Diorio, Dave Scott, Chris Judd, and many more. Since living in Los Angeles, Gage has been fortunate to work with choreographers Mollee Gray, Rosero McCoy, Richy Jackson, and more! He has been featured in performances such as The 2017 Industry Dance Awards and promotional releases for the new season of “American Horror Story: CULT” on FX, and feature film “The Greatest Showman”. He has worked with artist Toni Braxton, and other up and coming artists such as Stephania Sanquiz of Venezuela, Chasing Jonah and more. He is a graduate of the Los Angeles Film School with his Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Business and is represented by The Movement Talent Agency. Gage is excited to be joining “The Dance Company” staff!
Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop
Winkee Krick is originally from Grand Rapids, MI. She was born and raised in a family owned dance studio. Winkee began taking classes on her first birthday and never looked back. Winkee’s dream since the age of twelve has always been to move to California to pursue her career as a Dancer, Choreographer, and Teacher, and to share her passion for dance with others. Winkee has trained intensively in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, hip hop, and contemporary. Growing up in the convention scene she has won several scholarships from many conventions including CoDance and Shock the Intensive, and won the title of “National Tap Champion” at the Star Systems Nationals in Nashville. Winkee has been seen around the country assisting Darryl Retter, Keith Clifton, and Tom Alexander at regional and national DMI conventions. Winkee made her big move to Los Angeles in the summer of 2010. She has traveled the country setting competition pieces on some of the nation’s most prestigious studios! The past seven years have been such a growing experience for her. She has choreographed two official music videos. “ Acid Rain” by Lorn, which now has over 16 MILLION views on YouTube and “Love For That” by Mura Masa feat. Shura. Acid Rain also won the UK MTV Music Video Award for “Best Dance Video of 2015.” She has performed in many shows including three shows at the House Of Blues with singer Sean Vanderwilt. She performed in the 25th Anniversary Show “Beauty Shop” as the featured plus size dancer. She can’t wait to see what the future has in store for her and is honored to be part of the Dance Company in the upcoming season.
Tap, Tiny Dancers and Hip Hop
Tawnie is so excited to be teaching at The Dance Company! She has been dancing since the age of 5 and has a huge passion for it. She is a Dance Company alumni and trained in all styles while. She was a competing member and was a part of many award winning numbers at competitions and conventions all around California. Tawnie was also a part of Moorpark High School’s Dance Team and performed at many events and choreographed for them. Tawnie is looking forward to teaching and sharing her love and passion for dance with her students.
Roman is from Los Angeles, California. He has had the opportunity to work with artists such as Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Celine Dion, BackStreet Boys, Eva Longoria, Roselyn Sanchez and Anastasia, just to name a few. Other television/film and video credits include American Music Awards, MTV Music Awards, Kids Choice Awards , Pepsi, Sprite, EL Pollo Loco, Days of Our Lives, Rock the Reception, Bring it On 5, Indiana Jones 4, Mobbed and Alvin and the Chipmunks 3d. He has also choreographed and performed with companies such as Nike, FUBU, Adidas and Paul Mitchell. Roman continues to choreograph and teach across the country on workshops and dance conventions such as Hollywood Vibe and currently on Urban Heat. We are excited to have him as part of the TDC family!
